A public, pastoral and internal home for a religious community across the UK and Australia.
01 / THE STARTING POINT
The Daughters needed a dependable digital partner to take care of the technical responsibility and respond when help was needed. The sisters would keep updating the parts of the site that belonged to them.
The sisters had already done significant work on their content and what they wanted to say. That material needed a coherent, maintainable home.
02 / THE DECISION
The public site needed to tell the story of the Daughters of Charity: their history, work, vocation and presence across the United Kingdom and Australia. It also had to do that without making a centuries-old religious order look like a start-up.
Information was kept shallow and easy to find. Individual pages work independently, while offering clear onward paths into the next part of the story.
WHAT THE SITE NEEDED TO HOLD
- A clear public account of the Daughters’ life and work.
- News, newsletters and a prayer-request route.
- Safeguarding information that is easy to find.
- A protected area for internal formation and community resources.
03 / WHAT CHANGED
The site now holds public information, news and newsletters, a prayer-request route, safeguarding information, and a protected members’ area for internal videos, formation and community resources.
It also has distinct UK and Australian homepages. The technical setup behind that two-country arrangement was handled as part of the build.
04 / ONGOING CARE
The sisters update their newsletters and prayer-request ministry themselves. As new needs arise, BeardMonkey adds to the system and provides practical support, so ordinary updates do not become a technical project.
